Not the day

Went to Syracuse with the sweeties after being virtuous yesterday and doing all my grading. Stuffed the Duchezz's WWF leopard at Build-a-Bear, went to Williams and Sonoma and Borders. The Duke and I went into the Apple store and had a wonderful time with a good salesman. Turns out I can use my educator's discount at the store, not just online (didn't used to be that way). Soooo, when the wonderful Daniel's save on my iMac fades into oblivion, there will be yummy Mac-ness.

Went to the Select Comfort store and had a great salesman. There may be a new bed in the future. Just so you know, futons do not have a 16 year life expectancy.

Then to Barnes and Nobel, where we used up our combined gift certificates, taking advantage of their 2 for 1 TV season sale. We bought volumes 2 and 3 (seasons 3-6) of Danger Mouse. If you know what it is, you know why we're soo pleased. If you don't, you need to track it down and watch it. Trust me.

Then on to TGIF for early dinner. Spouses enjoyed the deep fried green beans. I enjoyed my steak. Then home to video games and The Dresden Files on Sci-Fi.

If I still feel this lousy tomorrow, I'm calling in sick.

I need a good sock pattern, not too boring, for size 2 dps and sockweight yarn. I have lots of patterns for worsted and sport weight, but no good ones for finer weights. I found two great sock books today. I especially liked the vintage pattern book, but all the sock patterns were for ladies shoe size 8-9, which is waaaaaaaaay too big, and used nothing but 0 and 1. And of course the other good book I found had lots of good information about adjusting sizes, etc., with charts and explanations, but the patterns themselves sucked. I don't want to spend my life figuring out a pattern--I just want a nice pattern I can make some socks with--is that really too much to ask? Sigh.

Well, the headache's winning. To bed with me.

The world...covered in custard... yes danger mouse rocks

I'm finding I'm enjoying the Sci-Fi's version of the Dresden Files, I've had to squelch the fanboy part of my brain that keep screeming "Wait! That's not cannon..." the rest of my brain understands that its going to be different then the books, even significantly so, but is pleased that they are doing a good job with it.

Hope you feel better sis.

Wow. I used to run home after school in High School to watch Danger Mouse. Definitely saving up my pennies for that one :-)
