If you've ever babysat, you know that sometimes kids cry. Usually they cry for a reason, but sometimes they cry for no reason you can discern, no matter how often you check the diaper, feed them, burp them, rock them, sing to them, play with them--the little demons just insist on crying. Eventually, they either stop or go to sleep, and you're left with a mystery.

Well, I suspect the reason they cry is because they have things they want to say, but can't get out; and they've got this sense that there's a tomorrow not too far down the road the is a big nasty and it's scaring the begeezus out of them; and on top of it all their nerves about the above two items are screwing with their tummies; and they haven't had enough nap time in the last two days because somebody keeps wanting them to be up and attentive or play with the new toys, or... and it all hits all at once.

I think that's why. Because,

Waaaaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

*'dicea listens to the wailing from outside the door and carefully slips a stuffed bunny, a trashy novel, and a martini under the door. *

bunnies, novels, and martinis
