Mixed feelings

There's something disconcerting about being able to do a huge chunk of the Christmas gift purchases at the grocery store by buying gift cards, even when it is, in fact, what the recipients specifically requested.

Feels a little like cheating, ya know?

We bought a bunch of stuff online this year, and didn't go shopping.

I feel cheated, somehow. Got the same stuff, but I didn't have to go get it myself.

I am buying my mother canned goods, and things like foil, zip bags, and plastic containers. (oh and shelled nuts)

In this case she dosent need more random stuff and she dosent collect anything, so ill get her stuff that she needs.

every one else gets amazon and stuff like that only my dad gets something not from them because the musem membership has to be bought in person if i want the discount.

but you know if its what people want then it is the thought that counts.

If it was a specific request, then they will feel loved and nurtured when they use it. Sometimes the most noble deed is the least glorious.

You can always come up with a fun way to present it ;)

Not really...:) Mostly because "back in the day" you didn't have to have all your Christmas shopping done by two days after Halloween and stores actually *stocked* things to buy right up to Christmas eve. Frankly I'm surprised I haven't seen swim wear in some of the stores this week.
