State of the Wednesday

Just got home from a lovely dinner at Piggy Pat's (local Carolina BBQ place). So, I must question why the Red Lobster commercial was so appealing.

I blame the stress of the last teaching day of the semester.

We went shopping today and Katie bought me a single perfect heirloom tomato. It was kinda red and soft green striped on the outside and just about the size of my fist.

I cradled it all the way home and set it up in a cupboard while we ate dinner.

A little while ago I went in and washed it and sliced it into four horizontal slices. The seed gel was tight and firm against the core and the flesh was deeply colored and firm.

It tasted exactly like tomatoes smell in the summer sunlight but with the sweetness of strawberries and something else in it.

I wonder how long it'll be before I find an excuse to drive over to that Wegman's again this week.

Also, HOORAY for Piggy Pat's!

Not exactly craving the RL, but the commercials make me want it. Obviously, it's a conspiracy.

I miss Carolina BBQ. Don't think there's anywhere near Pittsburgh to get any. Might have to resort to having Mom ship some up.

Question...Do you prefer Carolina BBQ or VA BBQ?or even GA or TN BBQ?

I prefer Carolina--all the yummy smoked pork goodness with a vinegary, spicy sauce. Most of the others have a sauce I find a bit sweet. My second choice is Kansas City BBQ.
