The impulse to get my own computer has just ticked up the "to do" list rather strongly, after reading this, which emt_hawk  referenced in a post recently.

I do not work in Wisconsin, but I do work at a publicly funded institution of higher learning. We do not have the same rules as does Wisconsin, yet, I feel caution is appropriate. Time to put up better firewalls between professional and personal.

It makes me sad. Wisconsin's education system, at all levels, for so long was the apex of public education in America. Will the institution support him? I hope so. Is he right about the values of FOIA and its state equivalents? Absolutely.

Still, doesn't hurt to...exercise due caution, eh?

I can sympathize. I managed a FOIA office for an AF organization of particular interest. You should have *seen* the requests we got. Some of them legit....others...oy!

Though, they never let me provide the response letter *I* wanted to write to answer the folks who sent FOIA requests for UFO stuff. ;)

So what's stopping you now? We're here, and we could all use a laugh.

I can suggest an e-machine whole heartedly. I'm on my second one. I had the other one for 8 years, including running the East Kingdom MOL list on it. My new machine is so brandy new that I don't have everything from the old one transferred yet... (It's an on going process). I can't speak for laptops, just desktops. Best Buy is a good source for them.
Good luck!
