These are role models?

So I've kept my mouth shut about the stupid meme of the mom who took pictures of her daughter posed as famous women. But, well, gonna explode. So...

Good call,Mom! You dressed her up as a racist, a Nazi collaborator, a dilletant martyred to her own ambition, a pawn exploited by too many factions to be ennumerated during her lifetime--let alone after, and Jane Goodall. Good call, Mom. Good call.

Who would you have preferred?

Well, for one, don't use your daughter for an art project. Grrrr.

That said, I thought the last picture (with the "Emma for President" buttons) was the right idea. Dress her up as a political activist (promoting something EMMA believes in--maybe complete with signs), as a designer (find out what the tools of a designer are, and use them for props--no harder than getting the right costumes, no?), as a pilot (or race car driver, or explorer), as a scientist (the kind EMMA finds interesting, which might not be the same type as Goodall). Not sure how to do a "Keller"--how does one demonstrate perseverance over adversity visually in a "one-shot"? But, well, you get the point.

As an "art project" it's pretty cool (Mom's a good photographer, Emma is pretty, the images are lovely)--as a moral lesson, which is how everyone I've seen is going on in praise about it, it's horrible.
